i tried to search tail spring because i remember posts that recommend changing the tail spring @ 500 hrs. I was trying to find a source to purchase one. Wag-aero has one for 48-50 model (according to website)..but does not say anything about a 52 model. I also tried spruce...... I should get a parts book...does HG sell the book?

Univair holds a PMA for producing the tailsprings. They are available from Univair and A/C Spruce where, interestingly, they are slightly cheaper last time I checked.

If you have a good computer and printer you can down load and print a parts manual for the cost of paper and ink @ http://www.micro-tools.com/pdf/cessna/ If I remember correctly it is around 200 pages.
By the way I dont think Home and Garden sells 170 manuals  Brian
