How many 170 ragwings have autopilots? I am looking to put one in and I would like copies of paperwork for the FAA to look and see there are others out there.
Thanks

You don't have a lot of choice. The old (no longer produced, and only minimally supported) TacTair was approved by STC. The Type Cert. allowed two Lear autopilots, and a Globe stabilizer (wing leveller type.)
The Edo/Mitchell/Century I (wing leveller) is the only one I know of still available and approved by STC. It'd be nice to dream of an S-Tec but there's little economic incentive for them to do so. (Doubtful if they'll ever sell another system for a 170.) You might try contacting them to see if they'll work with you in a development project. Don't expect to save any money other than installation labor tho', and you'll likely have to let them have your airplane for several weeks, and let them fly it numerous hours for certification.

The Century 1 is only STC'd for the B model. Does that apply?

It only applies to models to which it applies.

I have been told there is one ragwing that has this autopilot installed. Down in Arkansas area. I would like any paperwork that I can get to see if it make my options easier.

You say you want an auto pilot for your C-170? A real auto pilot or will a wing leveler do?
Do you have any "Pirate" blood?
The greatest thing since GPS in a C-170 is the "Nav-aid Devices" wing leveler hooked up to a GPS. Neatest little gadget I've ever seen and it works like a million bucks. Costs about $1400 as I recall. Made in Tenn.
Of course, if you're the nervous type, it's not for you. Its for homebuilts only. However, if you don't tell it where it's installed, it works great.
The installation can be arranged to be VERY quickly removable at annual time if necessary.
