Returning from Montana last Sunday we lost a cylinder on takeoff from Aberdeen SD. my son was flying and he put it safely back down on the 6,000 ft runway. Short story now, the rocker arm bosses broke on the cylinder.
Put a new cylinder on and I flew back home to WI yesterday. This is the second cyl that I have had broken bosses on in less than two years.
Lots of tired old cylinders out there and this is becoming a common occurance according to some repair stations. Have to run, I'll get back to the story later.
