Jim you don't realy need to pratice by actually making a post so see if a photo link will work.

Here are two ways to test the link.

First open up a new browser window and put the link (url) you think will work into it. When you hit the return key the browser should display the page or picture that the link discribes. If not then you have the link wrong and it won't work at the forum.

Second inthe forum click on the button to make a post. Insert the link for a picture inside the imag tags and then hit the preview button at the bottom. if the link is good you will see the picture if not you won't. You never have to submit the post if you don't get it to work which won't leave you open for Georges comment.

BTW by the syntex of your attempt it appears you where trying to show us an html page not a photo which typically would end with .jpg or .gif. Your link ended with .html.

Hang in there Jim. There are a bunch of us out here that don't know how to do the photo thing (and a lot of other things also on this computer)

Thanks for all the encouragement and help. Here's a photo of the plane before it was painted, taken in Hope, AR just before the plane went to Mena, AR.

I've tried photobucket but I dont know how to convert pic to 80X80 pixels without it being very blurry

Nothing has changed except that there seems to be more places that you can store photos on the web like geocities and photobucket.com.

Painting is complete, but waiting to pick the plane up after the upholstery shop finishes their work. Since the work is being done in Mena AR, and I am in Georgetown, TX, I have not seen the paint job yet. Will take lots of pictures, show plane of then, brag, tell wild tales on the workmanship, etc. Perhaps then, Dave will let me park closer to the campground during the Petit Jean flyin.

PS: I was successful in posting pictures using geocities. It turned out to be very easy....after lots of input from Miles and Bruce......Thanks guys

Your photo came out fine. Dig those white walls! Is the pickup the same vintage as the 170?

Nice toys there Bill. I think I want an old pick-up. Does it drive 'like a truck'? Im fond of power steering, brakes, etc
