Question ... TW Torque values

I am replacing the leaf springs on the tailwheel of my '54 170. What is the torque supposed to be on the bolt that attaches the springs to the fuselage and what should the torque be on the nut that attaches the Scott 3200 to the leaf springs? Better yet, source for the values? Many thanks in advance ... R/Lee

Try downloading:

The torque values are on page 1-8.

The link was still good this morning just before I posted. Hopefully they are just temporarily down. The link goes to (or at least went) to a site with downloadable Cessna manuals including the 100-Series Service Manual.

When the site does come back up...the file is something like 43megs...so expect to be waiting a while during the download. Here is a link to the list of manuals on the site (once the site comes back on line):

I just put a new main leaf on mine and I tightened it until my wrist clicked...

:D A calibrated wrist ... got to have one! Actually ... I have had my Tail wheel off the leaf and did pretty much the same thing ... reasonable Marine theory?! 8) R/Lee
