Here's a trivia question!: What's inside this building? (I have another of this place taken from above when the place is full of ragwing trainers in 1928 and all the buildings except this one are painted checkerboard.)

I'd guess a water tower. The main building on the Naval Training Center Great Lakes has a nice ornate brick tower with a clock that was built to disguise the water tower. It was built around 1912 if remember correctly.

thammer: an educated person. (or at least an educated guesser!) Yep. It's the original water tower at San Antonio Randolph field, where Lindbergh attempted to report for Army flight training, still in use.

(Lindbergh, having landed in his rather dilapidated JN-4, was told by the base commander to get his "pile of junk" off the base.)

that one can look up to find

Or, if you forget the address, just Google or Yahoo Search on the complete N-number and you'll be directed to the FAA Registry. A 1959 C-150 with the registration N150L is shown to be owned by a person in Wisconsin, but the the status of the registration is Revoked.

NO, that's not me! I had just put a new tailwheel tire and tube on that day and splurged for the one that advertised/gauranteed a 5 knot increase in speed.

The architecture looked old and I knew the history of the 1912 tower at Great Lakes so it seemed a good guess. I was stationed there 1993-1998. They made nice looking solid stuff way back when. I wonder what'll be left of the modern stuff in 80 years.

I remember when I could get in and out of a 150 like that.

Then I had to back out of 'em.

Then I had to "put it on".

Now I have to exhale first.
