Generator Remove/Replace--Seals/Gaskets needed?

Hi Ho Folks,
I need to remove and replace my Generator soon (needs to be tested and re-brushed I think). After reading through my seach of the boards and past posts I'm not sure exactly what I need as far as seals go.

1) Do I need a Gen gasked and Tach seal?

2) Just a Gen gasket?
I know after many of the threads I've read NOT to cut the gasket

3) I can't match part numbers up in the posts with Aircraft Spruce or several other places. Are there new part numbers?

4) I called Del-Air; the very nice man on the other end told me to make my own, he didn't think anyone had them.

Again thanks for your help!

I recently bought several generator/tach drive gaskets from Sacramento Skyranch. They were under $2 apiece.

Having had a bit of experience (not all good I might add) I get my gasket for the generator/alternator from my local repair shop that does mag's, starters, generators & alternator repair. Also TEX Air in Fort Worth is a good source for them & they will ship them to you.

Thanks for the part numbers and sources, very helpful.

Regarding question one in my first post, do I need both items? I would infer from George's reply I do.

Happy Friday,
