Has anyone out there taken a forward door post apart? Actually going back together without blind rivets is my big confusion. There are six number 5 rivets at the bottom of the upper door post bracket that I cant seem to find the back of. Cessna bucked those rivets, there must be a way. Looking for some experience. Thanks

I use a flat steel bar with a roll pin about one and onehalf inch from the end use the roll pin for a guide in the next hole down. Make sure to check each rivet as you go, you can't go back if one isn't down. The bar I have is about 3 1/2 FT X 1X1/2 IN. TMK PS. TMK is our local metal man.

Thanks for the help. I have been over thinking this project instead of just working it. Major corrosion in both carry throughs and upper door posts. I may need your help again before its over. JWalker

I know this is little late but you are thinking of Richard Walker from Floats Alaska. I am Jason Walker who just happened to buy a rotten 170B that Ive been rebuilding for 2 years now. No relation.
