I am in need of a replacement airspeed indicator. Besides looking at the new items in the Aircraft Spruce cataloge, does anyone have any advice on overhauled A/S indicators?

I had mine overhauled by Keystone Instruments in Lockhaven, PA and it came out fine. Do you *need* to replace your ASI? If you are open to overhauling it I'm sure there are many reputable shops capable of returning it to service.

Yes, it has some water in it from flying and sitting outside during some rain. It's just a matter of time till it gives up due to water damage.

Mike, send your indicator to a reputable instrument shop and have it repaired. It'll turn out just fine.

Mike,
At last annual I replaced mine vs. rebuilding. Wrong decision - I should have searched more shops. The gage, a United 8000-B1 cost 510.00 new and TGH charged 39.95 to mark the gage ........
Try a rebuild shop as mentioned above, save yourself some dough !
