Aileron Cables

Any of you guys have any "been there done that" experience changing the aileron control cables from the yoke back. Just looking for tips and/or suggestions to make the job go easier. I have to do both sides.

They are like most cables, time consuming. Use brass wire when you remove to prevent crossing. The hard points are the routing and pulley clusters. Take a long look at the build of the clusters located aft of the door posts below the floor and note where the spacers/washers/guards are located. When reinstalling these you'll find afterwards your tongue will have lengthened a little. Note the routing of the cables at the cabin top three pulley clusters and the different length spacers. Be careful not to lose the small spacer for the centre guide pulley when removing it and note on reassembly the angle required to start the bolt. The rest of the runs in the fuselage forward to the control column are straight forward albeit the pulley spacers at at the base of the control column like to move aft and get lost when you remove the pulley due to the deck angle. Most important part, take your time and use a means such as brass wire to prevent cable crossing. If you are new to this do one side at a time (remove and install) and get a second look/ digital photos before disassembly.
