Hello,
I am looking for the metal ash tray replacements that look similar to ashtrays but are actually for the headphone and mic jacks for the rear seat. above the armrests. I have one but I cannot find my other and I don't know where the previous owner ordered them from.
Also, where and what are the fittings called that plug into the transponder encoder and go into the static lines, the sizes are obviously slightly bigger on the encoder side then what is used to screw static line into.
Thanks

Not sure what encoder you have, but common pneumatic fittings can be used to connect it up to the static system. (many installations use simple automotive vacuum lines...check with your avionics shop.)
My rear intercom jacks are installed inside/beneath the lid of an actual ashtray. When the lids are closed....no one can tell the difference.

I haven't installed rear jacks yet, but to me it seems better to put them somewhere behind the rear seats so the passengers don't have headset cords to get tangled in. When not in use, put the headsets on the hat shelf and everything is out of the way.

On '82A they were installed in the hat shelf immediately behind the lip at the front of the shelf. You'll never see them unless you go looking for them, the seat back blocks the view of the wiring that came out the bottom of the shelf, and the headset wires are up out of the way. worked well.

It would also be an easier wiring installation as you could put all four jacks in one location rather than having to run wires to both sides of the cabin.

Yup. '82A had one set of jacks in each front corner of the hat shelf, but the wires ran under the front of the shelf to one side of the aircraft and then up to the intercom.

I put my rear seat jacks on the bulkheads beside the rear seat, below the hatshelf. they are mostly hidden unless you look for them, and out of the way. when plugged in the cords are behind and below your shoulder so no problems there either.
