Fuel Line ?

Howdy All,

I am in the process of doing an owner assisted annual on my 170A and upon removing the inspection panels I observed the fuel line on the left wing tank (rubber line) to be cracked (not leaking at this time) and in need of replacement. From the IPC, I have determined this to be part number 0500106-66 "Fuel line-Wing Tank to door post-Left"

I have searched on line for this part number to no avail.... What is the inside diameter, outside diameter and composition of this line? Is there a "generic locally available" substitute  ? Is there a "mil-spec" on this line? I would much prefer to use the correct approved material.

Thanx, Richard.....

Haydon,

Don't feel too bad. I pulled a similar stunt on my last annual, ony it was the anti-chafe on the other end of the line, under the floor near the fuel selector. :? My AI gave me a funny look when I pointed it out, then I noticed what it was.

I felt extra silly when I remembered that I had personally done an R & R on the selector valve about 15 years ago and KNEW that the fuel lines there are aluminum tubing. I'm blaming it on a senior moment. (I'm only in my early 50's, but that's my story and I'm sticking to it.)

Miles,
If you're in your early fifties and starting to have senior moments, you better stop flying. How much do you want for your airplane?
