Does anyone know the type of aluminum used for P\N 0512117 and 0512117-1 in the tailcone? I see 3 types on a vendor site. 2024-T3, 6061-T6, and 6063-T52. I am trying to duplicate the originals as part of an upgrade.

They are not just angles. They are extrusions which have a bulb on one edge. Contact Air Repair in Cleveland MS for possible parts.

George,
I got most all parts from Air Repair, but they did not have the extrusions. My originals , which are probably not original to the a\c , do not have a bulb on either side. They also have a straight 90 corner, as opposed to ones with a filled raidius, and are most like the 6053-t52. I'll keep looking.
Thankyou

I have a tailcone that can be disassembled (by you) if that is necessary.

George,
I got the 0612119-1 and -2 from JTA new. I don't see a bulb on either piece. They will not fit my '50 170A as they are 3/4" shorter and the predrilled holes dont match up. Also the bend at the bellcrank bulkhead
is much more dramatic, as well as they have a small cutout in each side for what I dont know. The Air Repair IPC does not show in detail. I've been told that the aluminum is 2024-T351. Thankyou for the offer, but the holes will not be matched to my airframe I suspect. I'd like to duplicate the originals. I've got almost all new undrilled tailcone pieces, and hope to find the last ones I need.
