Annual questions - fuel selector

Well, the much feared fuel selector is leaking - found it during this annual.

I have reviewed all the stuff in the archives but cannot find a definite answer. Is the weatherhead valve an OK replacement for the ragwing? Has anyone successfully used it? If not, is it even possible to disassemble and rebuild the ragwing selector? What is the best option here?

Thanks
Thomas

The Weatherhead valve is not approved. That said, I have a very, very good "friend" that used one in his 120 and it worked very well 8) . It is the same stylevalve used in 120/140's. I think all of the ragwings used this style of valve, but I don't have an IPC in front of me. More information than you ever wanted to know about the valve is available here.

Also do a search on the 140 site for options on repairing what you have.

If it is the brass conical style, lap it to seat and replace the packing with a straight spring. Mine they cut the spring and it didn't seat the packing.
