Hawkeyenfo.... I added the Img icon before after your link for you to make your pic appear within your post. To do that, all you have to do is click on the Img icon (just above), enter your link, then click ont the Img icon again and ...VOILA!

I assume that is the airspeed indicator below the d.g. Is there not enough room behind the panel for the CDI in that space? I'm hoping to do a similar layout but wonder if I'll have enough room for a CDI in the lower center spot with the yoke all the way back.
Sorry, I can't answer your question. The only panel changes I made were the radios, RNAV, audio panel and intercomm (plus jacks.) While changed, the CDI remained in the same place. It's a faily long unit though (at least the King one is) so I am not sure if you'd have room with the "t-bar" full aft.
Hopefully someone else can answer your question here. What do the measurements look like on the CDI you have?

Before I did the refurb on '82A there was a custom panel installed that had the same layout which included a CDI at that center-low location. It was an old ARC Cessna unit that wasn't very deep. I never had any clearance problem, but you would have to evaluate the particular CDI you wanted to install. Not all have the same dimensions.
