I'm investigating a sloppy flap lever in a 170A and would hope that someone can confirm the bolt and bushing installation at the flap lever pivot point. The 170A IPC Fig 17 item 31 is the bushing in question. The IPC depicts a bushing that appears almost to be the same length as the bolt. This bolt which the flap handle pivots on, runs across the flap handle well, does the bushing do the same thing? On this specific aircraft the bushing is about an inch long, just wondering if I'm running into some creative thinking or whether the IPC depiction is wrong.

Indeed, the bushing is almost as long as the bolt.

George is the IPC wrong or is my installation wrong? There's no provision in the aircraft structure at the ends of the bolt for the bushing. Thks Jim
