The gears I'am talking about are part #'s 23403 and 35343 are they not the same for a C145/O300 engine?

You didn't say how much the oil gears were. When I overhauled my C O300-B in 1999 I had to have one replaced and with my mechanic's discount it was around $725-$750

From Premier (the good guys, not the bad guys Miles knows) the parts are $1400 and $2800 respectively. And from our friends at Hill Aircraft (cessnaparts.com) they are about the same. Yep.
Are you certain your used gears are not serviceable?

Did anyone try Superior for those oil pump gears? Frankly, I've never had to replace a set. We did an overhaul on an O-300D on a heavily flown Club C-172 that had a third major on a bottom end that had gone over 3000 hrs on both previous majors and the oil pump was still good. It's still running.

You might check with Fresno Airparts.
http://www.airsport.com/general3.ihtml?id=128 Page 2 in Trade-A-Plane. I have only ordered C-85 parts from them, but the oil pump gears were about 1/3 less than anywhere else I checked. The down side is they don't take credit cards.... The up side is the had really good customer service.
