Cowl Blisters ??

Post by Jimmy M. »

When doing an 0-360 Lyc conversion one needs cowl bumps or blisters to clear the front rocker covers,
are these commercially available or are they something I must fabricate ??
Thanks..........Jim

I believe the cowl bumps usually come with the STC and/or kit. If you're going to do a conversion to a Lycoming O-360,I suggest you give ample consideration to the STC and kit by Delair in Porterville, CA. Harry Dellicker makes a kit that is hands down the BEST and most COMPLETE kit on the market.

Have you thought about a conversion to the Continental IO-360? No modicication of the cowling and thirty more horsepower.

I'm doing my own conversion, but I talked to Harry Dellicker and he was gracious enough to sell me a set at a reasonable price.
Thanks guys for the advice.

Jim Martin,

I was seriously taken aback when I read that you were doing your own conversion. A local one time STC is practically impossible anymore.
Then I saw that you're one of our northern neighbors. Best of luck. Let us know how it works out.
