Which way does it go????

I have an El Reno spin on oil filter adapter and the oil temp bulb is on the lower left corner of the accessory case. There is an oil screen behind this oil temp fitting. Which direction does the oil flow on this screen: inside out or outside in?

There are two oil screens on a C-145/O-300. The smaller suction screen (with holes in it so large as to be useful for catching mechanics tools left in the sump) and the pressure screen (which is ordinarily the one with the oil temp probe.) The oil flows from the outer to the inner portion of the screen, i.e., junk is caught on the outside surface of the screen.
The El Reno (FM-Enterprises) oil filter adaptor accepts the oil temp probe. Be certain to use the adaptor's hardware for the purpose.
