Fin strip at the bottom of the lower cowl

Fin strip at the bottom of the lower cowl, I have noticed some of your photos the fin lip at the bottom rear of the lower cowl is larger.

Whats up with that, cooling? STC? Or just done it?

It's a seaplane lip which is larger for better cooling. Not all larger lips came from the factory I suppose but many did.
