Need to replace the bolts attaching my v-stab and in searching the forum and looking on the web at genuine aircraft hardware, I wondering if anyone that has done this already has any extra bolts from the package of 5, or washers from the package of 25 they'd like to sell.

Part no NAS145-14 superceded by MS20005-5 (looks like -5 is unavailable, so guys are using -6)
Part no NAS145-18 superceded by MS20005-9
Part no NAS143-5C superceded by MS20002C5 (washer)

Any help appreciated.

We've written quite a few different entries on this topic. I'd like to see them get compiled into one thread. I've found some differing information on the cross-referencing of the NAS145-14 and NAS 145-18 bolts that are used in attaching the back of the vertical fin. It would probably help guys avoid ordering the wrong length of these expensive bolts if some of this information was edited.

The grip length of these bolts is .3125" for NAS145-14 and .5625" for NAS145-18. Referencing the General Aircraft Hardware catalog and John Schwaner's "Mechanic's Toolbox" it appears Dustin got it right:

According to Bon Aero, "Dash number is grip length in 1/16ths of an inch not bolt length. Increments are only available in 1/8ths of an inch so dash number are always even. Any odd numbers are special bolts." While the IPC only shows one washer with each bolt I would use one under both the head and the nut. The MS20002C5 countersunk washer that should be used under the head of the bolt is .078" thick and the MS20002-5 plain washer under the nut is .062" thick. Each additional length (dash number) of MS20005 bolt is .0625" (1/16") longer. Hope this helps someone from ordering the wrong length. "Measure twice, order once."

Why not ask cessna for a price. Now have handy a Large bottle of your favourite burbon when they give you the price. Having them hand made from gold is cheaper. However there are places around have a bit of common sense and the 2 smaller ones cost me around 9 dollars and the larger ones around 50 dollars.The company I used was called 'Genuine Aircraft hardware". Spruce also now sells them reasonably.
