Cessna Panel Eblem

I am in the process of repairing and repainting my panel overlay and I want to re-install the original cast Cessna script emblem. It was pretty rough but after sandblasting it is a nice, gold/brass finish. If I had some of the teal green trim paint from my plane I would paint it but I don't  > It's current condition would be a nice finish and be a nice contrast against the dark overlay.
If I leave the emblem unfinished as it is, will it hold its color over time or will it tarnish and fade? Any suggestions or should I leave it natural?

Thanks

Excellent thought Hilltop, I had not considered that.

I'll post some pics when I am done. this project needed to be done when we bought the airplane. The previous owner had redone the entire interior with the exception of the panel. He had planned on a center stack conversion and a 180 HP mod, but he sold her to us and bought a 180 instead. I added indirect panel lighting (cool eerie green glow), patched and repainted the overlay, made new sub panel covers around the avionics and painted the sub panel below the overlay. I had hoped to replace the Plexiglas behind the engine controls, but after realizing that I would have to pull all the engine controls completely out, un-solder all the fuse holders from the bus and then put everything back I decided that was too ambitious for the time I had. I masked off the plexi and painted around it. It will only look 98% better instead of 100% . I also passed on some avionics upgrades that may get done later. what a pain in the arse that wiring stuff is. I really wish I had paid more attention during avionics class in A&P school.

June and I will take off this weekend for a 7-9 day adventure, weather permitting. We plan to go from Wichita Falls Tx to Deacture Il, chicago, Winnipeg Manitoba, Lucas Kansas, Colorado Springs and Alamogordo NM. If the WX is crappy north or west then we'll go hang out at Gaston's for a few days. Time to take advantage of this empty nest situation before one of the boys decides to move back home!

If you get to Alamogordo, be certain to drive up to Cloudcroft and eat and/or stay at "The Lodge". (It's where Ol'Gar's Daddy probably got a glint in his eye and left us with..... you guessed it.... Ol'Gar!)
