This video clip appeared today (February 5) on the Yahoo Home Page and concerns a landing accident for a Cessna taildragger around January 30 in Colombia.

Can any others access this video?
If so, any comment about whether this is a late model C-170, which might have the large tail, or a C-180?
Since it happened in Colombia, will there be a way to access further information about the cause of the accident?
Also, any comment on the relative merits of the C-180 main landing gear being compared to the C-170 main landing gear will be appreciated.
Thanks from Robert Griffey of Timberstone Farm in Vernon County Missouri (member #8481)

That was a 180 or 185, it was posted earlier.....looks like the power was on throughout the accident..... :(

As Brad said, its either a 180 or 185. Note the cowl flap (s) as the plane gets right in front of the camera & then just beyond that point. Makes you sick to see that happen to a plane. Appears he may have been a bit fast and it got away from him/her :(

better look

Wheel landing, down wind, no movement on the rudder, hard on the brakes, addition of power, elevator comes up, does he want to take off, with brake applied. A three point may have changed the outcome.

Do early 180's have the same delightful parking brake system as our 170's?
