I found the problem when the engine wouldn't shut down with the mixture control after the first engine run. The labor was mine, so there was no extra direct cost and I didn't broach the subject with the overhauler. The A&P was a friend who had agreed to look over my shoulder for a flat fee while I installed the engine. I went back to some old posts and found that it was actually Chief's carb overhauler America's Fuel Systems that handled the exchange directly: http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtop ... ief#p29505blueldr wrote:Miles,
How did you discover that the needle and seat were bad in the carburetor that you received from Chief?
If t was found after instllation, who ate the extra labor?
