I have a spark plug cleaner with a spark checker that does not work.
I would like to build a ckt to produce the spark. But I would like to have the voltage the same the mag out put voltage. Any one out built one of these before? Any do and don’ts?
Thanks
Dave

Which test device do you have? Do you know why it doesn't work? Do you have air-pressure connected? (Some older devices do not create a spark until a pressure-switch is activated. One purpose of checking is to determine the plug fires under compression and at altitude.)

The best thing to do is to use the exsisting circuit in your plug cleaner. If you cant fix it, then copy the circuit and build another one. I have built several for different purposes( not for aicraft) and there are just to many variables. I have built a lead tester,magneto- coil -condenser tester and a mag timmer, and I built all by opening up the "real " ones and copying the circuits.
