Finally ready to start my training with my '48 C-GYHC. I have the rear seat removed and don't plan on reinstalling it till I have my PPL. Does anyone have a figure on the stock rear seat weight I could use for my weight and balance calc? I could drag a scale to the airport but the seat happens to be locked in a friends hangar and its hard to get a hold of him. Sure have appreciated the vast wealth of info I've found here.

Kim-
It will totally depend on what kind and how much upholstery and padding you have on your seat. The one that came out of my 170 weighs 34lb including the attached seat belts.

supposed to be 29 pounds, iirc, mine was 36# with the heavy "boat vinyl" upholstery right over the top of the original upholstery.

My stock 1949 "A" weighs 30 pounds.

On a similar note, maybe a dumb question. I took out my seat the other day and misplaced my bolts. Is this a big deal?

Only if you want to put it back in..........

If you want to put it back, you could look up the correct bolts in the IPC.

Those bolts need replacing fairly often, in my experience, just from removing and replacing the seat yearly for the annual inspection.
