Anybody have a part no. and/or a source for the gasket between the engine and the generator, not an alternator. I have a Delco model 1101890, 20 amp generator. I need a new gasket in order to reinstall. Any suggestions?

Bernie, I am sure some of our members will come through with a part number for you. However, if you have access to some gasket material its a pretty simple/easy job to make your own gasket.

Thanks George,
I got the gasket and oil seal and everything installed OK. I had my generator rebuilt by Modified Aircraft Accessories in Brooks, KY. Very reasonable and returned with yellow tag. Now if I can find the time to fly it would be great. Trying to find some AGS type fuses. Aircraft Spruce lists AGC fuses which are 1/32 smaller in diameter than the AGS. Any thoughts.

AGS fuses are available from Hill Aircraft, http:www.cessnaparts.com/
(How 'bout that?... genuine Cessna parts from a Cessna distributor! and at a reasonable price, too!)

Soooo, is the consensus to use a bit of permatex #2 on this gasket? I replaced mine and put it in dry as recommended by my mechanic so as to not make the next replacement too difficult. After less than an hour flight time she's leaking pretty good right at the bottom of the gasket. I scraped the accessory case with a razor blade which would certainly be a pain with any type of hard gasket sealer.
Thanks in advance

Are you sure it is the gasket leaking and not the generator oil seal leaking and running down there ?

^^ That was/is my problem. For the longest time, I thought it was the gasket but it ended up being the generator shaft seal.

Not only the oil seal...but also replace the O-ring at the shaft/woodruff-key.

Richard has a Jasco Alternator on his 170A. His gasket was leaking. He took it off and found the problem.

Yep, new alternator installed just a few weeks ago so I'm certain the shaft seal is good. Upon removal of the new unit, I found I didn't quite scrape all the gasket material off around the bottom stud. New gasket should arrive tomorrow. Live and learn!
