oil quick drain

I would like to add an oil quick drain 'kit'--do i need an STC, and any suggestions as to kind?? thanks. lbb

I don't know about the STC,but my Spruce catalog has two oil drain vavlves listed--Aeroquip & Saf-Air. The Aeroquip model for the O-300/C-145 lists for $289,the Saf-Air for $49. Guess which one I'd choose!

Or you could just send Ole Gar TWENTY bucks and get his KAJUN-DRANE STC. (It's a 14" long piece of rubber hose with an over-hand knot tied in it!)
His $35 up-scale version uses a set of vice-grips as a hose-clamp, instead of the knot.
