While your nominating don't forget New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg. Common sense like that from a politician is pretty uncommon.

Thanks for all the good information Folks. The backing plate holes sounds like a workable idea but I think I'll try the ground off ratcheting screw driver first. Then maybe I'll get the drill out.

Man! You guys are good! Thanks for all the help and I also appologize for hijacking the thread. I have the regular craftsman 90deg driver but it's too long. My clearance was tight enough that I had to leave the thin washer off the back of the prop flange, with permission (sort of), in order to use a...

Hey Hilltop, I have a question for you , if you don"t mind. Do you have the bullit spinner on your O300D? I just finished my conversion to the "D" on my 52 B model. I switched to the bullit spinner because the old skull cap won't fit the EM prop hub (and I like the looks) but now I ca...

buzzlatka, thanks for the info. I just placed my order for a set of those child ear muffs. Seth, my 8 mo old hasn't flown yet. Oh the shame of it :( . I too was concerned that ear plugs might keep his ears from clearing so I,ve been looking for a better way.

On the subject of engine times, I pulled the O-300A out of 2326D at a shade under 2500 hrs SOH. I chose to do this for safety and piece of mind but it was smooth and running great. Maybe I just had too much money.

I haven't flown my rebuilt engine yet but I noticed the same condition on the new ECI cylinders. Is this a normal condition?

Thanks George. Al the spinner man sold me a complete unit, dome and both bulkheads, for $125.00. Univar wanted $200 and $300 respectively for the bulkheads and $350 for the dome. It should be noted that the Univar parts were new and the dome was aluminum. Desert Aircraft was very pleasent to deal wi...

I just bought a 6 bolt unit for my O300D from Al the spinner man at Desert Aircraft. I think he had an ad in TAP. I don't know if I can talk about prices here but it was way cheaper than the other place mentioned and still had the Cessna stickers inside. Also he is nice to deal with.

Miles, Thanks for the response. I would be glad to take some pictures and measure the hoses. This is a good time because we are just finishing up an engine swap / annual,so the cowling is already off. It may be a couple days before I can get to the airport. This brings up another question though. Do...

Did all "B" models have cooling tubes? My 52 has openings on either side of the rear baffling that feed a firewall mounted oil cooler through two scat hoses.
