Cylinder problems again
I did my compression today and I got 2 cylinders with exhaust leakage one 55 and the other 62 /80....I took the springs off and I can reduce the leak buy putting a side load on the valve stem.....There is play in the guide....but not a lot....I checked a BRAND new cylinder and it has play in the guide as well....the cylinders are Superiors with 72 hrs ttsn....perhaps there are other post on this subject..... I also felt the faces of the followers and got on that feels rough.....I think I will just put a couple new cylinders on again to get it flying quickly then have these 2 repaired as spares....looking for good advice....

valve leakage
The cylinders are out of warranty by time...they are 3 years old....were going to have the seats and valves dressed .....and relapped..... one of the exhaust rocker arms does not hit the top of the valve stem perfectly.....its off center a little.....anybody else noticed this before?

The rocker not striking the valve exactly on-center is OK. That imparts a slight rotation to the valve and helps keep the seats cleaner and reduce burning.
The oversized valve guides should be replaced if the valve side-play is excessive.
Did you obtain complete assemblies? Or did you install/re-install seperate valves in new cylinders? (Built up your own assy's?)

cylinders
I bought complete assemblies, we touched the seats and valves up yesterday ....it didn't take much...only a few seconds with the stone on the seat.....we filled the exhaust ports with varsol and no leaks....the play in the guide calls for max .0045 clearance and I am still within limints.....Although you can sure feel the play ....I guess thats how the help to keep them from seizeing up....
