I've been pondering the same kind of thing. I've got a climb prop on mine (7651) and it's my understanding that the 7653 pitch was the cruise prop, but I've read of several planes with 7656 pitch props on them. From the sounds of it the 7656 prop will give a cruise of 125mph to 130mph, but I bet the...

That sucks :? I was daydreaming of upgrading to a new Franklin motor when my C145 wears out. Plus both the 235 and the 350 looked like good options for homebuilders.

Interesting, I kind of figured it would be heavy and with 135 extra cubes I was wondering what would happen to the cowl, plus how they dealt with all that extra weight. I was surprised at how many conversions they had listed, O320s, O360s, and the 435 struck me as sort of like putting a dump-truck m...

O-435-C Fulton conversion

Does anyone out there know anything about this conversion? It's listed in the Hartzell application guide, and I'm curious what they had to do for fitting that big of a motor.

I'd buy one for sure. Last year I bought the one from supercub.org but now that I have a 170 I would much rather have new 170 pics to look at every month.

Hmmm, it's to bad there isn't a CS prop solution for the 170 without having to change the motor. The climb angle I could get with the seaplane prop before I had it pitched up was great fun, but a cruise of 85 was just too slow. Now I've got a 51 on there which climbs fine, and a cruise of 100-105 wh...

Constant speed C145 prop

Does anybody know of a constant speed setup on the C145 for the 170? The reason I ask, a while back I had my prop repitched and when I took it off I noticed what looked distinctly like a knock out plug on the end of my crank. On another occasion I was asking a mechanic what the cover plate on the to...

I guess I better amend my previous statement. The flashlight requirement isn't in FAR 91.205 (C) for VFR night in my 2003 book. It seems to me that it would be a good idea, but now.........................................................s**t (^&%*&) now I'm reading this 91.503 and it appears...

I'm not implying anything, it's not in the FAR/AIM 2003 sitting on my desk gathering dust. I remember it from five years ago when I was a student, and I wouldn't fly at night without one.

It looks like they took the flashlight requirement out, it's not in my 2003 FAR/AIM under the VFR night section of 91.205. One of these years I really ought to read that book, it's the second one I've bought and I still haven't read it.

I just swept the snow off mine at lunch. I think I'll go back after work and pull the battery out so I can keep it charged up, it could be a week or two before I get to spin that prop again
