You mean the ground moves faster when you're lower..??... holy cow! LOL..... Also, FWIW, I had the xpndr fail and flew most of the flight without one. No DHS black helos or cars met me along the way despite me kinda wishing they would (yes, weird, but I'd enjoy the banter of legality )

Flying from omaha, Ne to Camarillo, Ca I planned 8 gph which gave a good margin of safety on top of good planning. In actual flight, best I saw was 6.4 gph, worst was 7.1 gph. Flight legs at 8,500 and 10,500, fully loaded with fuel and "junk"(brought an amputee with his wheelchair along). ...

I'm looking at the same type of light surface corrosion on my gear legs. It's been there for as long as I've owned it (7 years) with no real change but, I've been thinking about painting it. Post a few pics if you end up doing it
