Re: Seat and locking part dimension questions.
That's news to me. When I talked to the local Cessna station they said the only way it's free is if they install it.
I'll need to do some more reading on this as that's what prevented me from getting it done last year. They needed to keep the plane over night during the week and coordinating everything was a headache.

From the SB itself:
My local Cessna Service Center would not sell or give the kit to me. Took them about 2 hours to install while I waited.

Re: Seat and locking part dimension questions.
Had mine done about a year ago at Eagle Aviation, Columbia, SC. I called them about it, they ordered the part, called me when it came in, scheduled the time, flew it over, took them about four hours, they did the paper work , gave me a sticker for the log book and I was on my way ...no muss, no fuss. Great folks to work with.

My experience was the same as Ed's with Moyer Aviation at KMPO. Scheduled in and flew up and 3hrs later I was on my way. Great service and very nice people to work with.

Had mine done in December, 2011 at Cross Country Aviation located at Lancaster, TX airport (LNC). Took about 45 minutes. Wonder why it takes some of the folks so long

Took my installer an hour to decipher the paperwork while studying the seat frame and floor. About at hour to accomplish once he decided what to do.170C wrote:Had mine done in December, 2011 at Cross Country Aviation located at Lancaster, TX airport (LNC). Took about 45 minutes. Bruce, I left you an opening with my message. I am sure you understood, but just didn't post the obvious----------my installation went so quickly (ie: FAST) because of the GREEN airplane. Some endured much longer installation times, but it must be easily explained because of the slower RED airplanes

Re: Seat and locking part dimension questions.
Well I don't know about the Cessna guys, but when I do something, it usually takes me longer to get ready to get ready than to actually do the job....then, if I could back charge Cessna for it, would probably take a little longer.

Prepped and painted? You must be kidding.bigrenna wrote:To do it right (and make a pretty installation) it should take longer than 45 min. There is an angle bracket alone that needs to be cut and angled which if prepped and painted, should take you that time in itself.
