Inspection Plate buttons
Some of my inspection covers in my floor have really nice brass plugs vs screws.
It's easier to get the covers off with these buttons.
Does anyone have a source for these?
Also, I have a few clips that stand off electrical wires from the stiffeners (like the tail light wire running thru the fuselage. I also have a few that you can mount an adel clamp to. But I can't find them in any catalog.
Any ideas?

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
The part number for these is S1878-1. They make removing the cabin floor inspection covers very easy and lay much flatter then screws.

Does anyone have a line on the tinnerman stringer clips?
I've found two types in my plane.
First one clips to the stringer and holds just one wire (tail light) not crazy about this one cuz it has no insulation between the clip and wire so it may chafe.
The second one clips to the stringer and has a nutplate for an adel clamp.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
Just curious (Curious George ) about the buttons you just purchased. Are they the correct size for our inspection plates? I purchased some a couple of years ago and then found out that they were too small for the holes in the floor Wondering what to do with the excess buttons? Some of us might be willing to purchase some surplus ones from you if you don't need all of them.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
These are supposed to be for 1/4" holes so they may actually be too big.
I don't think that will be a major issue tho.
They were only $4.00 for 100 on ebay so I thought it worth a shot.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
Check the salvage yards I actually found a bunch of them for only a couple bucks.
Re: Inspection Plate buttons
The ones I got on ebay work just fine. You need to squeeze them together a little bit with pliers but they snap in just fine and wont go anywhere under the carpet.

I found new ones at iwantcessnaparts.com a few years ago.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
PN S1878-1 were the ones I wanted to find but the ones I bought look like the other design.
I'll still used them for the inspection covers tho.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
Ouch. I paid $0.36 a piece for them a few years ago and thought that was ridiculous.Aryana wrote:Yep, and being that the ones you found on eBay were so cheap, it is a smart way to go. The S1878-1 are about $0.71 each, which is crazy.
But I have spent far more on much less on getting original parts for my airplane

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
No, but the cost to keep a part that's so low in demand are high after a while, even though they're only sitting in a small bin box somewhere. Also, you have to pay for the person to pick it, the person to pack it, and the person to ship it. Oh, and the third vacation home for the company owner.Aryana wrote:I'm sure they are only going to go higher as time goes on. Seems silly for such a small simple part. Can't cost more than a couple cents to make these each if you're cranking them out in volume.
Thankfully they're not as expensive as other aviation related parts. Priced any parts for the retracts for a 210 lately? Make sure you take your heart pills before you do. Yikes!

I certainly hope you're using only the proper things on 27% project.Aryana wrote:I'm sure they are only going to go higher as time goes on. Seems silly for such a small simple part. Can't cost more than a couple cents to make these each if you're cranking them out in volume.

Re: Inspection Plate buttons
So what are you folks that have recently purchased the 100 ct of these buttons paying for them?
