mech fuel guages 170 B

Post by stogie17 »

On my 1952 170 B, the left wing root mechanical fuel gauge will move around when filling but generally just read 0. I was told they are hard to come by any suggestions? Thanks

That mechanical fuel gage is so incredibly simple, it is worth saving. It sounds to me that it simply needs a new float. Buy whiskey, drink same, save cork, make new float.

Cork is one method another is the neopreme "cork" Spruce sells http://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/t ... kkey=17088 and last is a brass ball float as outlined in this months 170 News.
