Electric fuel pump type/ID for AVCON 180 hp conversion

Post by ccondit »

I have an AVCON 180 conversion for my '52 B model. I need a new electric fuel pump and can't find any ID or model or make on the one I now have. I don't have any AVCON drawings that might help. I would appreciate any info on same.

I also see that the electric fuel pump is installed in series (that is in-line in front of) the engine fuel pump, and wonder if it is correctly installed.

It seems to me it would be better installed in parallel; as it is when you disconnect the fuel line at the junction with the engine fuel pump (and after it has gone through the electric pump first) there is very little fuel flow induced by gravity flow. Any enlightenment on if that sounds normal would be appreciated, too.

The pumps should be plumbed in series. All the Avcon documents are in the library here: http://www.cessna170.org/forums/viewtop ... =31&t=9329.

The pump is a Facet 476087. Spruce sells them for about $78.

Your pump might look like thishttp://www.aircraftspruce.com/catalog/e ... ckkey=9133
As the pump is for back-up, fuel normally just flows through it when it's not running.
Thks Dave I was checking my post when I saw yours which answers the more important question
