Clean Engine Crankcase

Post by MoonlightVFR »

I want to ultra clean the top of engine crankcase.

Baked on on bird poop is faint visible but I want it gone.

Have used all types of liquid cleaners with light bristle brush. No real effect. Long term stubborn

I have noted late night TV infomercial for hand held steamer cleaner. But doubt their claims.

Does anyone have any experience with steam cleaning select aviation parts with steam?

A pressure washer usually does a good job, but one must be careful to keep the high pressure jet away fron seams etc.. lest the sealer and gaskets be breached.
