I don't believe the whine was from the solder joint. Just in the chain of event that came to a head. The noise would increase as the load did regardless of application, strobes, turn and bank, landing lights. It didn't matter the only way to to make it stop was to turn the alternator off. I suspect it was one of the grounds, and the test flight yesterday running everything reviled no noise. I really only use my landing light at night, but had been having trouble with the fuse holder for a month or so, only noticeable through the cigar lighter as my iPad wouldn't be charging unless you pushed/twisted just right. During one of the ground runs I flipped the light on and noticed a huge spike of almost 50 amps, at which point I started to look at the wiring for that circuit. Yesterday the lights only indicated around 8-10 extra amps.
