Auto Fuel STC Engine Swap

Post by nippaero »

If i purchase the STC for my plane now with a C-145-2H motor in it and I swap later this year to an O-300B will the STC have to be repurchased again for the new motor?

I think I answered my own question. I called up Petersen and the STC is tied to the S/N of the aircraft+Motor. If I swap motors it will be $145 to redo the STC to the new engine.

That is if you buy the Peterson STC. I'd buy the EAA STC and don't ask questions. As far as you know the 0-C-145-2H and the 0-300-b are the same engine covered under the STC application chart. If my plane had the Peterson STC I'd still use the same logic.
