Hi All,
I noticed a little surface rust on my stabilizer torque tubes the other day. The section inboard of the stab itself was easy enough to clean up, but the with a light I can see that inside the stab the tube has some surface rust as well. This got me thinking. How is that torque tube attached? I didn't look super close, but a cursory glance didn't pop out any bolts or such. The IPC isn't really descriptive either. I'm hoping I just missed something obvious and you can all chuckle at my dumb question.

This had both upper and lower skins replaced, The internal parts glass bead blasted and then two part epoxy primed with DP 40 primer. Then riveted back together.

All of the elevators, 170, L-19 or 190/195 are constructed the same though they are not the same. The 170 and 170A are the same and seem to suffer worse from corrosion on and in the control tube or the outer rib which is much more exposed than the later B model.
