Fuselage inspection plates

What type of inspection plates are correct for the underside of the fuselage on a 1948 Rag? I’m missing some plates under the cabin area on the “belly”. Thanks.

Look at Figs 15 and 16 of the IPC.

The inspection plates are the same ones used on the cabin floor. Take a look at the IPC listing here:

You can see it lists 11 inspection plates at fig. 15-2 (p/n 0311516) which should require 33 fasteners. So the second line of 15-2 is for 27 snap fasteners in the floor inspection covers (p/n 49330) and fig. 15-3 is for the 6 PK screws to attach the two inspection plates on the bottom of the fuselage. If you're an originality nut you'll have two additional inspection plates that have carpet glued to them (fig. 15-1).

My IPC has illustrations 15/16. I do not show a 15-2. Are any more common Cessna 172’s inspection plates compatible with the early 170’s? I’ve searched the part numbers above and don’t see them anywhere for sale. Thanks.

The superseded part number is S225-2 and they are available at http://www.cessnaparts.com for $63.
You may want to check some of the wrecking yards.
