I have been a Slick guy until about a year ago when I bought my C-170A which has Bendix mags.
The P-lead has a filter on it. Is it really necessary with modern radios? Is there a new terminal needed to connect the P-lead to the mag?
I would like to eliminate the filter for a "cleaner" looking installation.

You know why they call them slicks Don't you? Oh well... You could take the filters off but I don't know why you would.N73087 wrote:I have been a Slick guy until about a year ago when I bought my C-170A which has Bendix mags.

FWIW, I put a pair of new Slicks on one year ago and could not be more pleased. Much less drop on either during runup plus they are lighter & simpler than the old Bendix mags. Bought the Slicks from Mattituck at an exchange price significantly less than rebuilding the Bendix versions. My two cents...
