Hi All,
My 170B rudder is being removed and reskinned. What else do I need to do/look for while it is off?
Thanks!
Bob

Make sure the rudder pillow block bearings rotate freely. See this post. If you decide to replace those bearings the IPC seems to indicate they are p/n SIK-5 (as in Sierra India Kilo - Five). That is not the correct p/n. It should be S1K-5 (Sierra One Kilo - Five). P. Ponk offers a “State-of-the-art polymer” bushing to replace these bearings on the larger S.E. Cessnas. I think (but have not confirmed) they would fit the 170. If so, it would be nice if he would amend the STC to include the 170.

Check rudder control cables especially in that aft bukhead area for condition and chafeing. Also the fairleads alongside the interior fuselage.rnealon1 wrote:Hi All,

Thanks to All!
I seem to remember an issue about the rudder stops from improper/no gust protection?
