Thanks for all the great input. We scrapped the carbon fiber and went to straight fiberglass for the layup. I popped the clamps off this morning and everything looks great. I'm hopeful this repair will add some structural integrity and longevity to the cowling. Some minor bodywork and a little paint touch up, and we'll be flying!
