camshafts

Hi,can anyone clarify different camshafts used in the o300, the early models have pointy lobes , the o300d engines have a more rounded lobe ,same part # later cams seem to have letters stamped after the part # au for example which is the better cam performance wise? have a pic but still trying how to post it,cheers nick
