Re: Tailwheel troubles
Getting her put back together finally. Caster angle looks much better with this setup. Going to take her out and see how she tracks in the morning. Wish my luck!

Re: Tailwheel troubles
She’s done minus paint. Took her up for a test flight and it did great! No shimmy what so ever. Thanks for all the good advice everyone.
Re: Tailwheel troubles
I'm looking at the access hole, I hope that doesn't cause you problems in the future.

Re: Tailwheel troubles
The access cover was on it when I bought it. It has a really nice doubler behind it that wasn’t installed in the picture. I actually thought it was factory until I started looking at other 170s. Didn’t think about getting rid of if it when we put the new skin on.c170b53 wrote:I'm looking at the access hole, I hope it doesn't cause you problems in the future.

Does the new bracket from Air Repair not require an STC? I recently ordered one and will have it installed in the next couple weeks, but it came with no STC paperwork. Im still fairly new to the whole aviation world, but don't all non original parts need STCs? Don't want this biting me in the rear later. Thanks

Rhetorical Question: Does the replacement of Cessna parts with Cessna parts require STC?triguy85 wrote:Does the new bracket from Air Repair not require an STC? (The L-19 tailwheel brackets sold by Air Repair are genuine Cessna or mfr’d under PMA. Some of them were acquired from Ector, who was the Type Cert. owner after Cessna quit producing the L19/O-1.)
