SAIB Issued on Lycoming/Phillips additive oils

Post by GAHorn »

Until this revision was issued this morning, I had not read/known the limitations of “make up” oil installed between oil changes. In essence, the exact SAME OIL must be used between 50-hr oil changes….OR….only 2 qts of a different additive oil is allowed without further action.

(Personally, I use one qt of additive oil at each oil change in my Continental….probably just a “feel good” practice that likely does little good….but it does make me feel happy.) :P

An originality nut (mostly) for the right reasons. ;)
