Don't have the airplane nearby to look...
A friend is building me a taildragger dragger (or similar contraption) in a welding class and needs to know the diameter of the C-170 tailwheel.
Anyone know offhand?
Thanks
Thomas

I'm not sure of exactly which measurement you need. In my hands I have a tape measure and a wheel with tire mounted. The wheel itself is 4 and 13/16 at it's largest diamter. Including the tire, it's 8 and 1/2 inches.
Hope this helps.

Put it in a 10" cube of cardboard and send it to me.cessna170bdriver wrote:I'm not sure of exactly which measurement you need. In my hands I have a tape measure and a wheel with tire mounted. The wheel itself is 4 and 13/16 at it's largest diamter. Including the tire, it's 8 and 1/2 inches.

Wouldn't do ya much good George, unless you can find some oversize (OD) bearing races. The bores in the wheel halves are worn to the point that the races fall out.gahorn wrote:Put it in a 10" cube of cardboard and send it to me.cessna170bdriver wrote:I'm not sure of exactly which measurement you need.
