Anyone price oil lately. I understand Shell combined to one central warehouse and no discounts. I'm looking at changing brands, even though I really don't want to.

I paid $39 for a case of Aeroshell 100 last week.

Try http://www.skygeek.com/aeroshell.html . They offer free shipping on orders over $100, not hard to do when buying oil! They have AeroshellÂ® Oil W Single Grade Oils 100 (12 Quart Case) for $37.36 . The other brands are around the same price.

With crude oil prices going UP

I don't know how long these prices will last.

They also have 55 gallon drums for $610.05, which comes out to $2.77/qt.

My local oil distributor has charged me $28-$32/case for the last several years. His current price is $34.50.

I just paid $32.00 for a case of W100 here in Savannah. I have heard that Sam's club and the likes carry it also but I have never gone there to get any.

Any opinions on the added value, if any, of Aeroshell 100 W Plus vs Aeroshell 100 W? I have a hangar neighbor who says its better of the engine if it only gets flown once a week or once every two weeks (like mine).

I disagree with that assessment, Frank. The "Plus" oils have additives (TPP as an anti-scuff agent) similar to their multigrade oil. The problem is for airplanes that SIT. The additives leach out the copper and other "yellow" metals in your engine bearings. I'm still a fan of plain ol' straight weight oil, ashless dispersant oil like Aeroshell 100W.
