My partner found our Rt wing sump drain leaking. While replaceing the sump, we found the last one was cross threaded. I always thought that it looked a little funny during my walk arounds. I want to replace the threaded stem but I am havenig a hard time finding one. I do not want to replace the fuel tank. Some one said make your own threads by useing J.B weld.... Does anyone have any ideals ??????

Gary we had a discussion about this very thing. Here is the link from that discussion.

Before I drilled out and went to a bigger size I'd find the correct size tap and try to "fix" the threads you have. Only after that fails would I consider the drill.
Sorry I don't have the correct size tap commited to memory.
